Dal momento in cui Peter se ne è andato nell'altra dimensione il suo rapporto con Olivia si è complicato, soprattutto a causa di Bolivia (Alt-livia). Entrambi si ritrovano a essere sempre più emotivamente lontani l'uno dall'altra e, quando finalmente riescono a riavvicinarsi, tutto si complica di nuovo. La fine del mondo è alle porte.

Nel 1985 Walter ha attraversato un varco tra gli universi per salvare e rapire il figlio di Walternate, Peter. Da quest'atto d'amore sono scaturiti tutta una serie di eventi distruttivi che hanno portato a distorsioni spazio temporali e all'avvento degli osservatori. In una timeline diversa, dove Peter non dovrebbe esistere, Walter cerca di rimediare ai suoi errori aiutando Peter e Olivia a ricongiungersi con la figlia Henrietta, uccisa dagli Osservatori che hanno invaso la terra.

In 1985 Walter crossed to another universe to save and kidnap Walternate's son, Peter. For this act of love a series of destructive events occured which lead to distorsions in the fabric of time and space and to the Observers appearance In a different timeline in which Peter should not exist Walter tries to make amends for his errors by helping Peter and Olivia reset time to save Henrietta, killed by the observers that invaded earth.
